Ms. Monusha Nambiar, Ms. Rishjvi Singh and Ms. Lekhana Padhmanabhan from CMR University School of Legal Studies, Bengaluru represented India and secured the runners-up position at the Commonwealth Mooting Competition 2023 held recently in Goa. The competition witnessed participation from various teams, representing the commonwealth nations. The Mooting Competition was held as part of the Commonwealth Law Conference, giving opportunities to network with and exposure to dignitaries from around the world including the likes of the Attorney Generals, Heads of Bar Associations, Chief Justices and Justices.
The team from CMR University School of Legal Studies, Bengaluru was selected to represent India following the CLEA (South Asia) Mooting Rounds, 2022 held by Mar Gregorios College of Law, Trivandrum wherein the team secured first position following qualifying rounds against 34 teams from across the country.
Expressing her delight, Ms Monusha Nambiar said, “As a student of CMR University, I am extremely happy and proud to represent India and emerge a runner-up at the Commonwealth Mooting Competition 2023. It was a great learning experience for our team, and we got to interact with some of the best legal minds from around the world. The exposure we received was invaluable, and it will help us in our future endeavors.”
Ms Rishjvi Singh added, “Participating in the Commonwealth Mooting Competition 2023 was a dream come true for us. We put in a lot of hard work, and we are happy that it paid off. We would like to thank CMR University and our dean, director, professors and other faculty for their guidance and support.”
Ms Lekhana Padhmanabhan said, “The entire experience was one of the most profound learning experiences that a law student can be exposed to. We are grateful for the opportunity to represent India and showcase our skills on an international platform. We hope to continue this journey and make our university and country proud.”
