CMRU School of Legal Studies Wins Padma Bhushan Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon Global Jural Conclave Mooting Competition 2023

The Padma Bhushan Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon Global Jural Conclave Mooting Competition 2023 was organised by Lloyd Law, Greater Noida (U.P.), India. The moot proposition was based on the economic exploitation of natural resources including transboundary harm and humanitarian crisis. The Competition witnessed participation from 52 teams from which 28 teams were selected from the first round of elimination which was a memorial selection round. Law Schools from across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Nigeria were amongst the participating teams. The rounds were held between 15th February, 2023 to 18th February, 2023 at Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida comprising of a total of 4 rounds. Of the teams that participated the team from CMR University School of Legal Studies, Bengaluru consisting of Misbah Shan, Anakha Hari from 3rd year LL.B, and Aathira Arun Mannath from 2nd year B.B.A., LL.B (Hons) was adjudged the winning team and received a trophy for the same. The final round was adjudged by a four-judge bench consisting of Mr. Justice S. Thurairaja, the hon’ble Supreme Court Judge of Sri Lanka, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohd Faiz Alam Khan from the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Prasad from the High court of Jharkhand and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Mini Pushkarna, the Hon’ble Judge the Delhi High Court. The valedictory was graced by the Attorney General for India, Shri N Venkataramani, among other dignitaries.
