The CMRU School of Legal Studies has established Centers of research and studies in Law in order to pioneer crucial research and allied activity in pivotal areas. The centers shall endeavour to establish the ways and means of securing the very best parameters of defining policy and legal considerations of a fundamental nature. The centers would also seek to envision and implement projects in areas of grave necessity and concern. All works of each center will be interdisciplinary in nature, involving our core philosophy of design thinking.
The core objectives of the centers shall be;
- To undertake research regarding the law and policy related to the area in which the center seeks to operate.
- To ensure effective and efficient means of engaging with the problems identified, both in terms of reforming law and policy measures and to suggest optimum measures for institution and resource building so as to enable implementation and enforcement of law and public policy.
- To study and evaluate the law, policy and programmes of the various states and of the union related to the area in which the center seeks to operate.
- To conduct studies in order to ascertain the role played by the various governmental and non-governmental agencies, in terms of their service delivery mechanisms, under the various laws, policies, plans and programmes related to the area in which the center seeks to operate. To engage in any other activity that may fall within the broad scope of activity envisioned under the auspices of the centers.
