Ms. Rugma S has completed her B.COM.LLB. (Hons.) from School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and her LL.M. (Criminal Law and Forensic Studies) from Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

Her academic journey is contemplated by practical experience gained various prestigious internships, including the DPIIT-Chair Internship program in the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and participation in multiple virtual internships focused on criminal law, cybersecurity and litigation. She also has a robust record of involvement in intra-university and national moot court competitions where she has won awards for her research and advocacy skills.

Further, she worked as a practicing Advocate at the Madras High Court where she engaged in case preparation, drafting, court representation and legal research in both civil and criminal matters. Her time as a practicing Advocate helped understand how academic research and legal theory transitioned into real-world practice and the gaps that legal scholarship can meaningfully address.

Her areas of interest include Criminal Law, Cyber Law, Criminology, Penalogy and Victimology, Forensic Science, International Criminal Law.
