National Level Cyber crime Summit, 2024

Everybody should want to make sure that we have the cyber tools necessary to investigate cyber crimes, and to be prepared to defend against them and to bring people to justice who commit it. – Janet Reno

Science and technological advancements have made technology omnipresent in our lives, impacting the social, economic and legal domains. These developments are creating new forms of social behaviour and are altering the way we perceive the world around us. Technology has helped many legal systems expand, but it has also brought up a host of new challenges that call for the adoption of new tools, processes, and procedures in the legal domain. But as technology has advanced, there have been a number of issues with its ethical application. There are uncertainties and numerous legal lacunae in the emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain etc.

Policymakers and legal scholars are faced with the daunting task of evolving the legal framework accordingly giving rise to the pressing need for debates and discussions to put together a dynamic legal framework to regulate technology and its development. This Seminar aims to examine and analyse Cyber Security and Cyber Law in today’s times. This seminar aims to learn more about legal issues pertaining to technology from a wide variety of stakeholders and to make sense of the plethora of decisions that courts have made recently that could raise an awareness among academicians, research scholars, students, and even the general public about the interconnection of law, science, and technology.
