CMR Memorial Guest Lecture Series – A Primer on moot court research
Dr. Vishnu Prasad, spoke extensively on the Moot Court preparation. With his expertise knowledge he educated our students about the importance of Moot court participation and he said it is an added advantage for their Curriculum Vitae. He gave a detailed explanation on the preparation of memorandum, oral and written submissions. And also stressed on the point of usage of pleasing words while presenting as a mooter. The talk was very informative for the students who are preparing for municipal round competition and for fresh mooters. And it was well recieved by the students of I & II year B.A., LL.B (Hons), B.B.A., LL.B (Hons) and I year LL.B (3 yrs).
About the Speakers
Dr. Vishnu Prasad is a graduate in B.A. (Psychology, Economics and Sociology), LL.B. LL.M. (Constitutional Law and Legal Order, Bangalore University, Bangalore) and Ph.D. in Law from Karnatak University, Dharwad.
He joined NLSIU from 1st February 2013. Before joining NLSIU, he worked as Lecturer at K.L.E. Society’s Law College, Bangalore for about four years and subsequently, at School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore as Assistant Professor for about two years. During these tenures, he has headed moot court committee, sports committee, college magazine’s editorial committee, examination committee and disciplinary committee. In addition, he has organised two state-level seminars and one national seminar besides conducting Louis M Brown client counselling competition (national rounds) and Anti-Trust Moot Court competition. He is currently the faculty advisor for the CDMC at the University.
He has attended UGC refresher course and several faculty development programmes. He has also actively participated and presented papers in number of seminars and conferences. Recently, he received ‘best paper presenter award’ served by JSS College of Law, Mysore for his paper presentation at the two-day national seminar organised by JSS College of Law. He has edited two books and published numerous articles in the reputed journals and magazines. He has participated as resource person in the training programmes conducted by the NLSIU for Income Tax Officers, IES officers, HAL officers and the likes, besides being a resource person at DTRTI (Bangalore), GIPARD (Goa) and ATI, (Mysore).
His areas of interest include Constitutional Law, Interpretation of Statutes, Administrative Law, International Human Rights Law, International Institutions and International Humanitarian Law.
