Overview

CMR University School of Legal Studies seeks lay emphasis on the integration of enterprising initiatives and creative programmes in the curricular activity, transcending conventional academic orientation. CMR University School of Legal Studies, formerly affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University, now a constituent of CMR University, is recognised by the Government of India and the Bar Council of India. It currently offers the following programmes:

Eligibility and Admission Procedure

LL.B. 3 years

Admissions to first year of the 3 year LL.B. course is strictly based on merit and on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

The following criteria should be met for admission to the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. integrated course:

  • Applicants should have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a university established by an Act of Parliament or by state Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognised as a ‘Deemed to be University’ or foreign university recognised as equivalent to the status of an Indian university, by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.
  • Applicants who have secured marks not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in qualifying examination, in case of general category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
  • A duly filled-in and signed application form along with a demand draft of Rs.500/- drawn in favour of ‘CMR University’, payable at Bangalore, shall be sent to the Admission Co-Ordinator, CMR Group of Institutions, # 2, 3rd ‘C’ Cross, 6th ‘A’ Main, 2nd Block, HRBR Layout, Bangalore 560 043.
 

B.B.A., LL.B. – 5 years

Admissions to first year of the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. integrated course is strictly based on merit and on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

The following criteria should be met for admission to the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. integrated course:

  • Applicants should have successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognised University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognised by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognised by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course. This candidate may apply for and be admitted into the course.
  • Applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies by distance education shall also be considered as eligible for admission to the course.
  • Applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post-graduation through the open university systems, and who are not in possession of a qualification for prosecuting studies are not eligible for admission to the course.
  • Applicants who have secured marks not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in qualifying examination, in case of general category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
